Cai Luong is a musical theater form originating from the South, inheriting, synthesizing and developing from many types of Southern folk performances, and influenced by Western theater. Until about the 20s of the twentieth century, Cai Luong gradually became a popular form of entertainment for Cochinchina audiences.
